The Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) is a link between the community and the police. The CPU serves to inform and educate the public as to what they can do to prevent crime in and around their neighborhood.
The Crime Prevention Sergeant is responsible for the supervision of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, the Teaching Education And Mentoring (TEAM) program as well as the Police Athletic League (PAL) program.
The CPU serves the community by going out and speaking at meetings, providing literature and taking back information from the public to the police officers. City residents are encouraged to contact the CPU if they are planning a neighborhood meeting or are looking for information regarding Crime Prevention. You can reach the CPU by contacting Sgt. Dorsey Sumrall at (717) 735-3372.
