COMMERCIAL BURGLARY EPHRATA KMART
On June 3, 2013 at approximately 4:45 AM a male suspect broke through the glass doors in the garden center of Kmart and entered the store while it was closed for business. While inside the store, the suspect immediately ran to the jewelry department and stole a jewelry diplay case from the counter. Once He had possession of the jewelry display, HE ran from the store.
Ephrata Police observed the above subject on video two days prior to the burglary. The white male subject was seen cutting the security wire that secures the display cases to the jewelry counter. The pictured subject is described as a W/M, approximately 5’8”-5’10” with brownish red hair and a closely trimmed thin beard. The subject was wearing a white ball cap that possibly had a Steelers or Penn State emblem on the front.
On March 25, 2014 aat approximately 3:15 AM a male suspect broke through the doors in the garden center of Kmart and enetered the store after it was closed for business. While inside the store, the suspect used either a small baseball bat or a pipe to break the glass to the jewelry display cases. Once the glass was broken, the suspect removed numerous item of jewelry to include gold chains, wedding sets and diamonds.
It appears from watching video of the two burglaries, that the same person committed both burglaries.
