On 30 October 2015 (Fri.) at 7:43 p.m. officers assigned to the Bureau's Selective Enforcement Unit conducted a vehicle stop on a blue Dodge Intrepid in the parking lot of the Gas-Mart located at 653 Columbia Ave. The vehicle displayed a registration plate that was assigned to a Chevrolet and was secured with one screw causing the plate to hang precariously from the body of the car. Officers Jason Hagy and Jared Snader approached the driver and four additional occupants.
Both officers detected the odor of burning marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle and also observed marijuana buds in plain view near the gear shift and center console. The driver, Jonathan Santiago-Rivera, was wanted on an outstanding criminal warrant for Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer through the Manheim Township Police Department. Santiago-Rivera was taken into custody and the remaining occupants were sent on their way.
