Updated Information: Pursuit, Police Involved Shooting

Lancaster City Police have filed criminal charges as a result of last night's pursuit and police involved shooting. Charged was:                                           

Richard Rivera Jr., 18-year-old male

1700 blk. Betz Farm Dr., Lancaster Township

Det. Sgt. Nathan Nickel charged Rivera with the following offenses:

Aggravated Assault, Receiving Stolen Property, Firearms not to be Carried Without a License, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine. All charges are before MDJ John Winters.

The handgun Rivera possessed during this incident, a chrome .357 Smith & Wesson revolver, was reported stolen to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police in October of 2013. Rivera was also found to be in possession of 12 grams of crack cocaine. Rivera remains hospitalized and will be arraigned on these charges at a later time. 

All persons accused of a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
